# Grant Management and Compliance

Federal grants fund everything from highway construction to public health programs to law enforcement equipment. In FY2024, the federal government distributed over $1 trillion in grants to state and local governments. But securing and managing these grants requires extensive paperwork — applications, budgets, performance reports, audit responses, and compliance documentation.

Grant Opportunity Identification

The first challenge is finding the right grants among thousands of opportunities:

GRANT MATCHING REQUEST

Priority needs:
1. Water infrastructure replacement ($15M needed)
2. Public safety technology upgrades ($3M needed)
3. Affordable housing development ($8M needed)
4. Workforce development programs ($2M needed)

For each priority need:
- Identify the top 3 most likely federal grant programs
- Note the typical award range and match requirements
- Identify the next application deadline (or whether it's rolling)
- Note any eligibility restrictions that might disqualify us
- Flag if our congressional delegation sits on relevant committees
