Process: CNC milling operation for aluminum housing (Part #AH-7042)
Machine: Haas VF-2 vertical machining center
Material: 6061-T6 aluminum, pre-cut billets

Operator's description of the process:
"First I check the raw material against the traveler — lot number,
dimensions, and material cert. Then I load the program (#7042-REV-D)
and set up the fixture. I use the Mitutoyo height gauge to set the
Z-offset. Coolant needs to be at 8% concentration — I check it with
the refractometer before starting. The first piece gets full CMM
inspection before running the batch. Cycle time is about 12 minutes
per piece. I deburr each piece after machining and do a visual
inspection. Every 10th piece gets dimensional check with calipers.
End of run gets another CMM inspection."
